We have recently acquired a new to us 2009 GMC 2500 Duramax Crew Cab. We bought this truck to haul our brand new event trailer. We will be taking this huge beast out to most of the events we attend.
Quickly after purchasing the truck we made an order with our friends at ICON Vehicle Dynamics to give the truck some personality. We decided to go with ICON's Stage 2 leveling kit which features a uniball upper control arm, new shocks specifically designed for the truck, and a new set of torsion keys. In the end it lifted the front end of the truck up 3 inches, gave a smoother overall ride, and brought the total wheel travel of the front end up to 10".
To compliment the new height of the front and overall look of the truck we slapped some Toyo A/T II Open Country 285/70R17 tires on a set of 17" Double Standards in a matte black finish.
For anyone wondering we do have a full size double standard spare tucked nicely under the bed.
The truck is not lifted to the sky but it is to tall for granny to step into so we purchased a set of AMP Research Powerstep's. These steps are truly the best on the market and not only clean up the look of the truck when its doors are shut but also add ground clearance the bulky stock running boards took away.
Next we wanted to make the truck sound as good as it looks so we went with the new Magnaflow exhaust cat back exhaust system. Can't wait to hear it scream when we're hauling this thing over some steep hills while carrying a full load!
The trailer was purchased to haul our products as well as show vehicles to larger events.
Of course we had to put some wheels on it so we went with a full set of six 16" x 8" Standard wheels in the all matte finish.
Our friends over at Rigid Industries were kind enough to hook the trailer up with some 10" Diffused Lights for the events that run into the evening. We also have two of their pods mounted up front to help with loading up the trailer if it gets dark out.
Give us a wave if you see us out and about!
So what do you think? How's she looking?
